The deadline came and went Monday for the group trying to recall Central Arizona College Governing Board President Rita Nader.

Calling themselves the Central Arizona College Recall Committee, Dick Hudgins and Richard Brinkley of Saddlebrooke, took out an application in August to recall Nader, but missed the 5 p.m. Monday deadline to turn in 1,326 valid signatures from District 4.

District 4 hugs Pinal County’s southern and western boundaries and includes Maricopa, Ak-Chin Village, Arizona City, part of the Tohono O’odham Nation, Red Rock and Saddlebrooke.

The Pinal County Recorder’s Office said no petitions were returned, which means the recall effort is dead. Nader’s current term is scheduled to end in December 2016.
